Every step in this Reset series adds to a stronger mindset. Prompt 5 helps you see what you often miss.
Prompts so far:
- It is going to be a great day.
- Something cool is going to happen today.
- Whatever happens, I can handle it.
- An exciting new chapter in my life is starting today.
Prompt 5: I deserve to give myself more credit for how hard I am working.
Adapted from Mel Robbins’ “8 Things To Tell Yourself Every Morning” (11 Sept). The science shows we often default to noticing what went wrong or what we didn’t do, rather than all the effort and small wins that are happening. When you affirm your effort, your Reticular Activating System (RAS) begins to tune into those invisible efforts. This helps reduce the power of your inner critic and builds motivation. This prompt shifts your brain so the small wins and steady effort get seen.
👉 Morning Prompts:
Now include Prompt 5 to the 4 you are already using!
👉 Evening Reflection:
Spend 5 minutes with all five: What went well? What cool thing showed up? What challenge did I handle? What felt new? And: Did I recognise something I did today—even if no one else did?
The photo is of me coaching!!
Because: Your brain is always listening see the video below.
Why this works: Marking effort creates a positive target for your RAS, so it keeps surfacing wins and cues you to continue.
