Week Two: Mindset Settings — Staying Power Series COURAGE

Sometimes you’re not stuck because you don’t know what to do next…

You’re stuck because you’re still holding on.

This week in Mindset Settings — Staying Power Series, we’re turning the dial to COURAGE.

Jay Shetty shares a simple truth (via a Zen teaching): what’s holding you back is often what you’re holding on to — an identity, an idea, a behaviour, a version of you that once protected you… but now keeps you parked.

I see this with:

  • people returning to study who are holding on to “I’m not academic enough”
  • mid-career professionals holding on to “I must get it perfect before I start”
  • leaders holding on to “I have to have the answers”

In mindset terms, that’s a default setting.

And courage is the willingness to question the default… and let go.

This week’s setting: COURAGE
Default setting: hold on / stay safe / keep control
New setting: release what’s weighing you down… to make room for what matters

A tiny practice (60–120 seconds):

  1. Write: “I’m holding on to…” (one line only)
  2. Then: “It’s costing me…” (one line)
  3. Finally: “This week, I release ___ so I can move towards ___.”
  4. Take one micro-step in the next 10 minutes (send the email / open the document / book the conversation).

Your brain is always listening: name the setting, and your attention starts scanning for evidence and openings to act.

This is exactly how I coach sustained progress inside Your Move, Your Game, Your Future — Leading to Your Legacy.

Question: What are you ready to let go of this week — so you can move forward with courage?
